The Oakwood crew headed to Canada for a dog show vacation!

Newfoundland was gorgeous (and cold) and the folks there were very friendly people.  We attended 4 shows there and had a blast.  We ate great food, drank good beer, I bid on a jacket in the silent auction since I foolishly thought I wouldn't need one in the summer (duh) and in general had great company.

We headed next to Prince Edward Island where we stayed with old friends David and Kim, met Ashlee (co-owner of Troi and Dillinger) and saw some other islanders who come down into New England to show and visit with me in NY.  Ate lobster, shopped and sunbathed (it was warm there!)  The Lady Slipper Club feeds all showgoers dinner of clams and mussles after the Saturday show and puts on a fun fundraiser of "dog races" (with dice and wooden dogs) that I lost spectacularly at 7 out of 8 races. Gerri's little Lakeland placed in group several times as did Kim's mini long doxie, Pat's Westie and Carola's Dal took the non-sporting Group 2 all four shows.  Congrats to all.  Thanks to Kim and Carola for helping to handle the Oakwood crew.   The end product of our trip was Canadian CH Rivendells Leende Leia and Canadian CH Oakwoods Rainy Night In Georgia and another Group placement for Canadian CH Oakwoods Safecracker (his third!)  and baby Mojo (Oakwoods Nacker Cracker) picked up two 2 point wins as well.  Photos are on the way!
